Present:          Councillors: Geoff Herbert (Chairman), Shirley Round, Ken Huddart,

In attendance: Co-opted Members: Noel Isaacs

 

                       

1. Apologies for Absence

Parish Clerk:Freda Collins,Audrey Cartwright

 

2. Declarations of Interests

Cllr Huddart declared an interest in those applications in the Conservation Area, as he is Chairman of the CCAC.

Cllr Master declared an interest in 10 Meadow Road as a neighbour.

Cllr Round declared an interest and withdrew from the meeting for 26 Torrington Road.

 

3. Minutes of last meeting

The minutes of the last meeting on 26 March 2008 were confirmed and signed.

 

4.  Report of actioning of items from previous minutes

4.1 AP36- the corbel at the Bengal Lancer is still missing It is a condition of planning permission. This has been reported to Martin Parker

4.2 Cllr Herbert raised the enforcement issue of incorrect use of the front room at 109, Hare Lane with Martin Parker. EBC are awaiting a further update from the owner who have advised that the room is being used as storage

6.1  2008/755-128 Coverts Road- Rear conservatory

We ask the officer to check the 45 degree rule to no 126.

 

6.2 2008/764 –27,The Roundway two storey side extension following demolition of garage.

We are concerned that the extension will mean that no 29 would be overlooked by the new upstairs windows and that the neighbour at 29 will have the sunlight severly restricted in their back garden.

We object to this application as it is out of keeping, dwarfing no28 and the second storey is closer than 1 metre to the boundary.

6.6 2008/834- 2, Forge Drive-2 Storey rear extension, to existing front door alterations to fenestration.

Would ask that the side lighting is kept in the style of the parade and that a cycle rack is provided

 

7.0 Report of the East Area Sub Committee

 

Cllr Huddart attended the meeting This was the application for 15 Hare lane boundary fence ,unfortunately Cllr Herbert did not update Cllr Huddart with the background information.

Permission was granted for the application

9.  Enforcement Matters

 Outstanding matters-

         i.            the oak tree in front of 28, Stevens Lane

       ii.            the felled trees at the front of the Hare & Hound car park

      iii.            the front room of 109, Hare Lane-it was noted that this room is still in use contrary to Planning Permission.

     iv.            the middle corbel on the shop-front of the Bengal Lancer

       v.            Information has been received that a nearly-blind person fell over some building debris outside 17, Albany Crescent.
